Anna Faris (right) and Allison Janney give Chuck Lorre’s (Two and a Half Men) slapstick comedy a real beating heart. It’s a two-women show, with Faris relatable and very likable and Janney scene-stealingly funny. Other than the often risque dialogue and themes of addiction, there’s no reason it couldn’t be prime-time viewing.
In “A Bouncy Castle And An Aneurysm”, Bonnie (Janney) starts secretly hanging out with a sober stranger she met while attending a wine and cheese festival alone. In “Roast Chicken and a Funny Story”, Christy (Faris) begs
Adam (William Fichtner) to take Bonnie back despite her questionable behaviour.
