Small town book­ies ben­e­fit

TAX changes in the bet­ting in­dus­try will work to the ben­e­fit of coun­try book­mak­ers, ac­cord­ing to Rac­ing Min­is­ter Stir­ling Hinch­liffe.

With point of con­sump­tion rev­enue now be­ing taxed in-state, a sig­nif­i­cant por­tion has been promised to small book­ies.

“We know that coun­try rac­ing is the lifeblood of coun­try towns, which is why we have com­mit­ted more than $70 mil­lion over four years to coun­try rac­ing,” Mr Hinch­liffe said.
