High cost of electricity

Bayside and Northern Suburbs Star - - NEWS -

QUEENSLAND now has over 20,000 homes cut off from electricity (source: Australian Energy Regulator) because people cannot pay the rising cost of electricity.

To spend a night in one of these homes without electricity is like a cold night in the bush.

The cold soaks in and no matter how many layers of clothes, it’s cold.

There are no lights and no hot showers.

I hope this wipes the smile off the Palaszczuk Government’s face and inspires Member for Sandgate Stirling Hinchliffe to spare a thought for people unable to afford the rising price of energy.

A good start to reduce the cost of living would be to drop the 50% renewables and stop protecting the union-dominated power suppliers. — Guy Badgery, Shorncliffe
