A TAIGUM mum has begun shopping for her family’s first home after winning $1 million in Gold Lotto.

The woman was one of four division one winners nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3692 on Monday, September 4.

Speaking to a Golden Casket official the following morning, the woman said she had been happily ‘freaking out’ since she checked her entry at home immediately after the draw.

“We haven’t slept. I tried, I just couldn’t. I was freaking out,” she said.

“We checked it online.

“We saw we had five numbers and then we had six numbers. I thought ‘you’re joking’.”

The mum said she knew exactly what she’d do with her new millionaire status.

“We’ve worked hard but haven’t been able to get anywhere,” she said.

“We’ve been renting for decades and have never been able to save for a house deposit.

“So we’ll definitely buy a house.”

The winner purchased her 24-game Quick-Pick from Taigum Lotto and Cignell on Roghan Road.

It’s been a winning year for the outlet – earlier this year it sold an Instant Scratch-Its ticket that won a customer one of the top prizes of $250,000, and in

July it sold the 1st Prize winning entry in a Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw that landed one customer $200,000.

The winning numbers on September 4 were 13, 8, 16,

24, 37 and 7, and the supplementary numbers were 5 and 20.
