Aspley Hornets scoop the premiership pool
CONGRATULATIONS to the Aspley Hornets on what was an outstanding weekend of grand finals football. Between the seniors and youth finals, the Hornets brought home five out of six premiership flags – a terrific result. There’s still more to look forward to, with the Hornets Under 18 Colts to play their Grand Final this weekend and, on behalf of the community, I wish the Colts all the very best.
HOLY Spirit Carseldine residents were recently notified at short notice by Translink that the 680 bus service would no longer stop near the entrance to their village. As soon as it was brought to my attention, I contacted Translink to find a better outcome. I’m pleased to report that common sense has prevailed, with Translink confirming there will be no changes to the route. Thank you again to residents who added their voice to ensure they can continue to access this service.
LAST week in the Queensland Parliament I spoke on the upcoming one-year anniversary of the State Labor Government’s announcement of the Carseldine Urban Village Development. To view my speech in full please visit my facebook page at facebook.com/Tracy DavisMP
WE really were spoilt for choice at the weekend with a number of terrific events across the community. On Saturday I was delighted to once again join the Brisbane Malayalee Association for this year’s Onam Celebration. My sincere thanks to all those who made this celebration possible, including the Malayalee Association ladies for dressing myself and Councillors Fiona King and Amanda Cooper in traditional saree. It was also wonderful to catch up with a number of residents at my stalls at both the Zillmere Festival on Saturday and McDowall Spring Fair on Sunday. As always, if I missed you and you’d like to discuss a local issue or need assistance with anything else, feel free to contact my office on 3554 7100 or email aspley@ parliament.qld.gov.au.
