WITH Term 3 wrapped up some par­ents will be hear­ing the words “I’m bored”. Coun­cil’s Chill­out pro­gram can help solve that prob­lem with a great va­ri­ety of free and low-cost re­cre­ation ac­tiv­i­ties for young peo­ple up to 17 years. Book­ings are essen­tial for most Chill­out ac­tiv­i­ties. More de­tails are avail­able on the Coun­cil web­site at www.bris­ (search ‘chill out’).

IF you are look­ing to add some green­ery to your yard this spring visit my of­fice and pick up your free plant voucher. Once each fi­nan­cial year ratepay­ers, Hous­ing Com­mis­sion and De­fence Hous­ing res­i­dents are en­ti­tled to claim two free na­tive plants. You will need to bring along your cur­rent paid fi­nan­cial year rates no­tices, which will be ac­cepted in ex­change for a voucher. If you rent or lease a prop­erty, your body cor­po­rate or the prop­erty owner must make the ap­pli­ca­tion. Own­ers of unit prop­er­ties must make an ap­pli­ca­tion through their body cor­po­rate.

THE Coun­cil Cab ser­vice or­gan­ises shared taxis at sched­uled times for res­i­dents who find it dif­fi­cult to get to their lo­cal shops. You can use this ser­vice if you are ei­ther over 60 years of age, mo­bil­ity im­paired, a Pen­sioner Con­ces­sion Card or Cen­tre­link Se­niors Card holder, a child un­der the care of an el­i­gi­ble per­son, or a carer ac­com­pa­ny­ing some­one who is el­i­gi­ble.
