SPRING has officially sprung and while you and your pooch should be excited about the warmer weather and longer days, there are a few hazards to be conscious of.

Dogs Queensland general manager Rob Harrison said it’s important to remember that your dog needs to ease back into exercise just like you.

“As the weather starts to warm up, it’s common for people and their pooches to find renewed motivation in all aspects of their lives and, although this can be a great thing, it’s important to not go overboard,” he said.

Also remember while spring cleaning and getting into the garden, to keep household cleaners and fertilisers away from pets.
