Bayside and Northern Suburbs Star - - NEWS - STIRLING HINCHLIFFE MP

IT was terrific to be out door knocking residents across Bracken Ridge recently, sharing with them the important news about the Palaszczuk Government’s development of a new, $5.8m Fire and Rescue Station on Bracken Ridge Road. To be completed by 2020, this state-of-the-art facility will accommodate for to 40 staff and three appliances to meet the current and future needs of the community. The existing station on Brighton Road will remain fully operational until works are completed at the new station. I have secured a commitment for the existing site to remain a community asset through a closed tender process for local community groups. I very much look forward to working alongside our community groups through this process. I also welcome your ideas and thoughts moving forward. Contact my office on 3639 9100 or via email at Sandgate@parliament.qld.gov.au to be part of the discussion.

WE all know that every dollar spent on local businesses contributes to growing our local economy. That’s why I’m urging all locals to join me in support of the ‘Go Local, Grow Local’ campaign part of the Palaszczuk Government’s commitment to ensuring our local community is the place for small business to start, grow and employ. By helping our small businesses succeed, we are also helping to build a stronger local community. More information on the ‘Go Local, Grow Local’ campaign can be found at: www.business.qld.gov.au /starting-business/advice -support/support/small-b usiness/go-local.
