Do you need to drain canned pulses?

The ‘wa­ter’ canned beans are kept in is more of a salty brine. If you're adding the beans to a chilli or stew that could do with a bit of liq­uid and sea­son­ing, then the pulses can be added, un­rinsed, with as much brine as you need. For sal­ads or sides when you want the beans by them­selves, drain and rinse in a sieve un­der cold run­ning wa­ter.
