Wombat Stew, one of Australia’s most loved stories, turns 30 this year and children of all ages will be able to celebrate by coming along to a musical adaptation at the Benalla Performing Arts and Convention Centre next month.

Wombat Stew – The Musical! is based on the popular children’s book by Marcia K Vaughan and is presented by Garry Ginivan, Australia’s leading producer of musical theatre for children.

It features a dingo that catches a wombat and decides to make wombat stew, complete with blobs of mud, feathers, creepy crawlies, flies, gum nuts and a big, bubbling billy can.

Billed as a ‘‘true-blue-dinky-di- big-aussie musical’’ for families and children, Wombat Stew – the Musical! will be performed at BPACC on Friday, June 6, with tickets still available for the 6 pm show.

Wombat Stew – The Musical! runs for 55 minutes (no interval) and tickets are $16.50 for adults, $15 for seniors, $13 for concession, $12 per person for group of 10 or more, $12 for BPACC members and $12 for children under 12 years old. For bookings and further information visit or phone the Box Office on 5762 5515.

Wombat Stew – The Musical! is proudly sponsored by Toyworld Benalla.

Family fun: Children and families across the district are invited to see Wombat Stew – The Musical!
