The mystery of one of the wedding photograph­s held by Benalla Historical Society has been solved.

David Roe contacted the inform us of the following:

‘‘They are my father and mother, Edward and Joyce Roe (Ted and Joy Roe). They were married in Caulfield on April 22, 1950. Dad’s family was local. He lived his whole life in Benalla and mum came from Melbourne and they lived their married life in Benalla.

‘‘My father, Ted, fought in World War II and was a builder. He died in 1974. He met my mother while holidaying at Marysville. My mother, Joy, was a housewife. She died in 1996.

‘‘They had two children, myself and my brother Andrew.’’ Ensign to
