Volunteers sought for Red Cross shop

Benalla Ensign - - News -

The Red Cross shop in Carrier St is seeking volunteers to give up their time for a good cause.

Red Cross spokesperson Shasha Syedi said the store was looking for staff to help with sales and sorting donations.

‘‘Volunteering in a Red Cross shop provides a great opportunity for anyone to get involved in their community,’’ she said.

‘‘Our inclusive environment welcomes people looking for friendship, retired people wanting to participate in the community, people wanting to develop their English skills, and job-seekers keen experience in the retail sector.

‘‘Training is provided and no previous experience is required.’’

Proceeds from Red Cross shops help fund the important community work the organisation undertakes in supporting people who are experiencing hardship across Australia.

If you are interested in donating your time please call into the store at 59 Carrier St or register your interest at www.redcross.org.au/volunteer
