Award-winning author Elisabeth Holdsworth is hosting a memoirwriting workshop at the Sir Edward ‘‘Weary’’ Dunlop Learning Centre at Benalla Library on Wednesday, August 30.
Elisabeth is a renowned novelist, essayist, short-story writer, critic and reviewer who has had work published in the Netherlands, Poland and Germany.
She was the winner of the inaugural Australian Book Review (ABR) Calibre Prize for work that later evolved into the novel Those Who Come After.
The ABR also awarded her a RAFT fellowship for 2017, which acknowledges outstanding Australian Writers.
Benalla Rural City Mayor Don Firth is pleased that the celebrated writer is returning to Benalla.
‘‘A workshop with an expert of the calibre of Elisabeth Holdsworth is an invaluable opportunity for anyone who has considered writing a memoir for themselves or for a family member,’’ Cr Firth said.
‘‘Elisabeth’s previous workshop, held last November, had great reviews from the community mem- bers who took advantage opportunity.
‘‘We are excited to be able to offer local writers the opportunity to develop their skills in an interactive and engaging environment.’’
