The fi­nal round of the win­ter pen­nant com­pe­ti­tion pro­duced im­pres­sive per­for­mances from many teams with an eye to the fi­nals.

In A-grade ac­tion, Owls fought hard to hold off Wal­la­bies, with John Ba­jada lead­ing the team to a con­vinc­ing 4-1 vic­tory to seal their fi­nals spot.

Top team Kook­abur­ras con­tin­ued to im­press with a 5-0 vic­tory over Pos­sums. Brian Har­ring­ton and Jeff Austen were in great form to win all their matches in style.

Adrian Squires played bril­liantly to take Rosel­las to an em­phatic 4-1 vic­tory over Echid­nas. Plovers were too strong for Taipans, with Ga­van Crothers star­ring to ac­count for both sin­gles.

B-grade

Top team Num­bats had to pro­duce its best to over­come a de­ter­mined Wom­bats unit. Ray Grant was in su­perb form, play­ing bril­liantly to win both sin­gles.

Mozzies were too strong for Red­backs, show­ing their class to en­joy a solid 4-1 vic­tory. Chris Lee won both sin­gles matches.

Ea­gles pounced on Glid­ers, tak­ing a 4-1 vic­tory. Beth Grant won both sin­gles in a fine dis­play.

Frogs fought back to over­come Bul­lants for a tense 3-2 vic­tory. Pauline Hooper and Si­enna Ir­win were in top form.

C-grade

Mag­pies had a 4-1 vic­tory over Crick­ets. Bruce Sten­nett was the stand­out, win­ning both sin­gles.

Hawks beat Koalas in the match of the round, post­ing a 3-2 vic­tory. Jack­son Squires and Sally Young fought well to win a sin­gles each.

The Bombers have landed a grand fi­nal berth af­ter over­com­ing the Ea­gles 3-2 in the first A-grade semi-fi­nal last week.

The Ea­gles play the Fal­cons tonight to see who their grand fi­nal op­po­nent will be.

The Tigers de­feated the Wom­bats, 3-2. The Wom­bats play the Farm­ers to see who will face the Tigers next week.

The Cock­ies de­feated the Vix­ens 4-1, see­ing them through to the B-grade fi­nal, while the Vix­ens will play the Saints to de­ter­mine their op­po­nent.

All matches will be played at the Ta­tong Hall start­ing at 7.30 pm. All play­ers are asked to bring a small plate for sup­per.
