The Benalla Demons placed third in the recent AMCOTeamGym Victorian Championships.

Held at the State Netball and Hockey Centre in Parkville, the Benalla Gymnastics Club’s representatives competed in floor, tumbling and single mini trampoline events.

Gymnasts compete in teams of six to 12 participants to showcase their skills and work together to provide performances that will keep the audience on the edge of their seats.

All three apparatus are performed to music, making it an exciting and engaging competition for spectators and teams. Teams can compete at three levels and can be single gender or mixed groups.

The Demons achieved an equal second for their floor routine and third in tumbling, with an overall ranking of third.

TeamGym has been developed by Gymnastics Victoria to provide a pathway for recreational and elite gymnasts.

Developed Europe, the in northern pathway is open all the way to top international TeamGym competitions in Europe.

This is the first time the Demons have competed in the TeamGym Victorian Championships, but co- coaches Nicole Briggs and Kaitlyn Hocking said they were extremely proud of the effort put in by the girls and their results in the level two competition.

They said the Demons would continue to compete in TeamGym competitions around the state and refine their skills and routines.

The team of gymnasts consisted of Holly Morrison (captain), Georgie Morri- son, Emily Sims, Anna Howell, Maddison Mailer, Sophie Boyle, Zoe Liddington, Jazmine Blyss, Sarah Neilson and Isobel Osborne.
