Kook­abur­ras take on Owls in grand final

Top sides in the Be­nalla Ta­ble Ten­nis Club’s win­ter com­pe­ti­tion have ad­vanced through to the grand final.

Semi-final clashes held last week saw favourites Kook­abur­ras and Owls progress to take their places in the grand final.

In A-grade ac­tion, Kook­abur­ras ousted Wal­la­bies 3-1 in a hard-fought con­test.

Brian Harrington was at his best, play­ing im­pres­sively to take con­trol and win his open­ing sin­gles clash.

Owls booked their spot when they held off a de­ter­mined Rosel­las in a 3-2 vic­tory.

John Ba­jada and Steve McCal­lum played bril­liantly to win a sin­gles each af­ter tak­ing the dou­bles.


Num­bats took their chances against Mozzies to progress to the grand final.

They fought back for a dra­matic 3-2 vic­tory, with the re­sult de­cided in the final sin­gles.

Ray Grant was in form, play­ing well to gain vic­tory in both sin­gles in con­vinc­ing man­ner.

Mean­while, Glid­ers held off a de­ter­mined Ea­gles unit, scor­ing an im­pres­sive 3-1 vic­tory af­ter a slow start.

Jack McNulty was on fire, pro­duc­ing his best form this sea­son to ac­count for both sin­gles against class op­po­nents.


Crick­ets earned their grand final spot when they held on to de­feat Mag­pies 3-2 in a hard­fought con­test.

Heather Craw­ford was the stand­out, pro­duc­ing her best form at the right time to win both sin­gles in tight matches.

Top-team Hawks showed their fight­ing spirit to snatch a 5-0 vic­tory over Koalas in a spec­tac­u­lar clash.

Jackson Squires and Kaye Grosser had to fight hard for the win.

A-grade: Kook­abur­ras v Owls B-grade: Num­bats v Glid­ers C-grade: Hawks v Crick­ets


A-grade: The Fal­cons held on for a 3-2 win against the Ea­gles. The Fal­cons will face the Bombers in the grand final tonight at the Ta­tong Hall.

A-re­serve: In an­other up­set the Farm­ers de­feated the Wom­bats 4-1. The Farm­ers will play the Tigers tonight in the grand-final at Ta­tong.

B-grade: The Vix­ens con­vinc­ingly de­feated the Saints 4-1. The Vix­ens will play the Cock­ies in the grand-final at the Ta­tong Hall.
