Be­nalla Lawn Ten­nis Club’s 92nd an­nual tour­na­ment is gear­ing up for Mel­bourne Cup week­end.

Club pres­i­dent Peter Jewell said the tour­na­ment would cater for all ages and abil­i­ties.

The club’s 24 grass courts are in great con­di­tion, he said, and com­peti­tors would be as­sured of at least two sets with the pop­u­lar round-robin for­mat of the tour­na­ment.

Play­ers will be able to play sin­gles, dou­bles and mixed dou­bles dur­ing the three days of com­pe­ti­tion, which has now been run­ning for 91 years.

Satur­day, Novem­ber 4, will see sin­gles ac­tion with the mens and ladies open, A, B and C-grades for adults and boys and girls un­der15, 13 and 11.

On the Sun­day dou­bles play­ers will be catered for with A, B and C-grade mens and ladies dou­bles, as well as boys and girls un­der-15, 13 and 11 dou­bles.

On Sun­day evening, the ev­er­pop­u­lar trivia night will again be held with lots of laughs and great prizes promised.

The fi­nal day of the tour­na­ment will be on Mel­bourne Cup day with mixed dou­bles with A, B, C and D-grade for ju­niors and be­gin­ners.

Play­ers will also have the op­por­tu­nity to win tick­ets to the 2018 Aus­tralian Ten­nis Open in Mel­bourne as well as watch the big race on a big screen.
