Opportunity to work with young people
State Member for Euroa and Deputy Leader of The Nationals Steph Ryan is encouraging local government and community organisations to apply for youth funding under the Engage! 2018-2020 program.
The Engage program is offering grants of between $90 000 and $150 000 during three years to local government and community organisations to work with young people to develop and deliver activities in their local community.
‘‘These grants provide the opportunity for local government and community organisations to work with young people aged 12 to 25 years to develop activities that will help improve their health and wellbeing, social connections and their education, training and employment opportunities,’’ Ms Ryan said.
‘‘Priority will be given to proposals that give young people the opportunity to be part of the planning and delivery of the program and which are inclusive and accessible for all young people in the local community.’’
Ms Ryan is also encouraging local people aged 12 to 25 to apply for funding to support events and activities planned during National Youth Week 2018.
‘‘Grants of up to $2000 are available for young people to work in partnership with local governments or community groups to organise events that celebrate youth,’’ Ms Ryan said.
‘‘Victorian Youth Week will celebrate the contribution young people make to our communities and will run from Friday, April 13, to Sunday, April 22.
‘‘There are so many amazing young people achieving wonderful things right across the Euroa electorate and I feel so fortunate that I get the opportunity to meet so many of them.
‘‘These grants provide the opportunity for our young people to share their knowledge, skills and experiences to develop and deliver projects, activities and events.
‘‘I encourage those working with young people across the electorate to consider applying for both the 2018 National Youth Week grant and the Engage! 2018-20 grant.’’
Applications for the Engage! 2018-2020 grants close on Friday, November 10, and applications for the National Youth Week 2018 grants close on Friday, November 24,.
