Win sees Wal­la­bies gain up­per hand

With only two matches left to play in the Be­nalla Ta­ble Ten­nis Club’s spring com­pe­ti­tion, many sides are pro­duc­ing out­stand­ing games on the run home to the fi­nals in De­cem­ber.

In A-grade ac­tion, Wal­la­bies pro­duced a stun­ning per­for­mance to edge out Rosel­las for a hard­fought 3-2 vic­tory.

Ash­ley Duns and Cooper Ir­win were im­pres­sive, win­ning a sin­gles each be­fore claim­ing the dou­bles in a tense clash.

A de­ter­mined Pos­sums out­fit moved fur­ther up the lad­der af­ter an ex­cit­ing 3-2 vic­tory over Owls.

Col Ex­ton and Carol Perry were in top form to win a sin­gles each, be­fore tak­ing the match with a straight sets dou­bles vic­tory.

A fired-up Kan­ga­roos unit de­stroyed Plovers, en­joy­ing a 4-1 vic­tory in a clas­sic match. Brian Har­ring­ton was sight­ing the ball well, win­ning both sin­gles in a mag­nif­i­cent dis­play.

Echid­nas im­proved their po­si­tion on the lad­der with an out­stand­ing 5-0 vic­tory over Taipans.

Jeff Austen and Michelle Feldt­mann showed no mercy, over­whelm­ing their op­po­nents in a high stan­dard clash.


Top-team,Num­bats had to fight hard to hold off a de­ter­mined Red­backs out­fit, pre­vail­ing for a tense 3-2 vic­tory.

John Spencer and Jack McNulty had a fright, fight­ing back to win a sin­gles each, af­ter post­ing a close three set dou­bles vic­tory.

Mean­while, Ea­gles pro­duced a pow­er­ful per­for­mance to over­come Mozzies for a 5-0 vic­tory.

Glid­ers moved into fi­nals con­tention with a re­sound­ing 5-0 vic­tory over Frogs.

Beth Grant and Coby Linke were sen­sa­tional, show­ing strength to win all their matches in straight sets.


Top team, Koalas se­cured an im­pres­sive 4-1 vic­tory over Hawks. He­len Sharp was su­perb, play­ing strongly to win both sin­gles in style.

Crick­ets were on top of their game, pro­duc­ing a con­vinc­ing 4-1 vic­tory over Mag­pies. Top player, James Young was at his best to win both sin­gles.
