Cooinda wins excellence award
On Monday night, Benalla’s Cooinda was announced a Victorian winner of the Organisation Award in the Leading Age Services Australia Ltd (LASA) Excellence Awards.
The LASA aged-care industry awards recognise providers who have made an outstanding contribution to care and services development within the aged care industry by demonstrating strong leadership, innovation and excellence in the provision of highquality care to older people.
‘‘We are absolutely delighted to receive this year’s Organisation Excellence Award,’’ Cooinda chief executive Margaret Aldous said.
‘‘It’s a great achievement for Cooinda to win the award out of the 15 nominations received from aged-care facilities across Victoria.
‘‘We are very proud to recognised as a leader by aged-care industry.
‘‘Awards such as this do not just happen. It takes a caring, compassionate and connected team to achieve such recognition.
‘‘In the midst of so much poor publicity with regard to the care of older people, it is the quality of our staff and the individualised be the care we provide to our residents that sets us apart.
‘‘A few years ago we introduced Mindful Leadership into our organisation, which has had some very positive outcomes for both our residents and staff.
‘‘We support our staff with compassion, caring and understanding, as is expected of them in their delivery of person centred care to our residents each day.’’
Thrilled: Cooinda chief executive Margaret Aldous.
