Strikers managed one goal in the first half.
The second half was much the same, but Benalla was able to break though from a penalty corner by Martin Gillies.

Benalla B-women’s team took on Echuca in Shepparton on Sunday in an elimination final.
The team came out strong, knowing they needed to win to progress to the grand final.
With a few good runs down the righthand side, Anna Wainwright pushed forward with tremendous skill into the attacking circle.
However, having a few players with injuries, players were thrown into positions they do not normally play, which seemed to unsettle the team.
Despite the circumstances, the determination of Benalla’s forward line in Cindy Daws, Heidi Perry, Cindy Findlow, Wainwright, Rhonda Carpenter, Lee Manning, Alex White and Suzanne Wright continued.
The women kept pushing for the breakthrough into the back of the net, but it was not to be.
Benalla’s mid-line did a fantastic job of defending and attacking with Mel Gillies, Sharon Watkins and Rachel Young all pushing hard to make an impact.
Benalla’s defence was solid with Willow Plex and Sally Young copping the brunt of Echuca’s attack and doing a tremendous job.
Benalla goalie Prue White did a fantastic job deflecting many attempts by Echuca at goals.
The 0-0 scored forced the match into a penalty shootout.
Watkins, Wainwright, Findlow, Plex and Gillies were Benalla’s five players, unfortunately only Wainwright and Plex converted, with Echuca scoring three.
Well done to all players this season and they now look forward to supporting the men next week in the grand final.
