Be­nalla Bowls Club en­joyed its All Abil­i­ties Bowls Day on Thurs­day.

In at­ten­dance was Coun­cil­lor Bar­bara Alexan­der and Natalie Mer­covich from Be­nalla Ru­ral City Coun­cil, Jar­ryd Cut­ler from Val­ley Sports, Matt from Bowls Vic­to­ria and John Emer­son from Bowls Aus­tralia, plus 60 par­tic­i­pants and carers along with the helpers from Be­nalla.

Ev­ery­one en­joyed a bar­be­cue lunch.

The club would like to thank ev­ery­one who helped and those who came from far and wide for the day.

BBC week­end pen­nant re­sults, Oc­to­ber 20:

Be­nalla A1 played YMGCR at home; Be­nalla won 96-85 to col­lect 14 points.

Be­nalla A3 played Ruth- er­glen away; Be­nalla won 112-71 to col­lect 18 points.

Be­nalla A4 played YMGCR at home; Be­nalla won 95-93 to col­lect 13 points.

Be­nalla B1 played St James away; St James won 60-70 and Be­nalla col­lected two points.

Be­nalla B2 played YMGCR away: YMGCR won 69-73 with Be­nalla col­lect­ing three points.

Mid­week pen­nant re­sults, Oc­to­ber 16:

Be­nalla A1 v Corowa Civic: Be­nalla won 94-52.

Be­nalla A2 v Wan­garatta: Be­nalla won 91-59.

Be­nalla A3 v Moyhu: Be­nalla lost 64-62.

Be­nalla B1 v YMGCR: Be­nalla lost 69-55.

There was no so­cial bowls due to in­clement weather.

Run­ners-up: V. King, B. Il­s­ley and M. Williams. L. Ladies Rac­quet­ball re­sults for round 11: Macs de­feated Bam­ford 5-1. Free­man de­feated Daws 5-1.

Con­tes­tants: Be­nalla’s David Lind­say and Robert Lewis played off in the Ovens and Mur­ray Novice Sin­gles Cham­pi­onship with Robert com­ing out on top 21-14.

Hav­ing a go: Billy Ed­wards from Dookie Cam­pus Se­condary School mid-bowl on Thurs­day.

Good day out: There were plenty of smiles around for the day of bowls fol­lowed by a bar­be­cue lunch.
