The Benalla Festival opened last weekend with a number of events in town and in surrounding villages.

The festival’s opening event was the Goorambat Backyard Party.

Complete with live music, great food and drinks, judging by the number of attendees it was not just the local townsfolk who showed up.

The Tatong Art Show had an official launch on Friday night, prior to the exhibition opening to the public on Saturday.

On show is an eclectic range of photographs, paintings and 3D artwork.

The art show is also open this weekend, so if you haven’t had a chance to visit make sure you do.

The much-anticipated Moorngag Mower Mania was a big success with engines roaring and dust flying all over the place as grinning spectators cheered on their favourites.

The drivers were also enjoying themselves jostling for first and pulling manoeuvres to entertain the crowd.

Impressive: Some artists ditched the traditional canvas.
