MAKER’S TIPS

• Use a special denim needle: size 100/16 for heavyweight, 90/14 for medium, and 75/11 for lightweight denim.

• Include ‘features’ in strips, such as welted seams, zips and stud buttons.

• To taper the spiral at the top edge, cut away sash cord from within the denim cover and allow the edge to flatten as you stitch.
