VETERAN truckie Larry Behan has an interesting hobby outside work which is flying ultra light planes.
The 62-year-old Larry has a five acre property at Oak Valley near Townsville and drives a Mitsubishi FM14.
“I have a Bobcat and mainly do work around Townsville but also get to cattle properties near Ingham and Charters Towers. The Mitsubishi is a good truck,” he said.
His business is L&S Behan and Larry has been a truckie for 37 years. He previously had an old Ford Louisville.
“It is de-registered and still on my property,” he said.
Also there is his trusty ultra light plane and a 6m long aluminium boat powered by a 140hp outboard motor.
“I love going fishing out to the reef and the ultra light needs a new wing which is the reason I haven’t flown it for a while,” he said.
Larry said he hoped to continue driving the Mitsubishi for many more years.
