Louise Macdonald

Big Rigs - - TRUCKIN’ IN THE TROPICS WITH ALF WILSON -

YOUNG driver Louise Macdonald had a huge smile on her face when Big Rigs saw her making deliveries to the Townsville suburb of Douglas on July 3.

Aged 32, Louise works for Coles and was unloading food from a Hino to a cafe.

“I pack the orders at the Coles Aitkenvale Supermarket and then deliver it to customers around Townsville and sometimes to the Burdekin towns of Ayr and Home Hill,” she said.

When off work, Louise plays indoor netball and also had been a rugby union forward for Western Suburbs in the Townsville and District women’s competition.

Louise doesn’t barrack for any particular football team.

“My partner supports the Essendon Bombers in the AFL and the Sydney Roosters in the NRL,” Louise said.

Friendly Louise said she was a full-time worker who had been in the job for two years.

“There is a lot of variety in my job from filling the orders from the shelves, packing them and then delivering to homes and businesses. I get to meet a lot of different people,” Louise said.

And it is that variety that for Louise, makes the job worthwhile.
