Hot trucks ready to line up for Supernats 2017
STREET MACHINES, beasts and monsters alike are set to take over the roadway this November, and you’re invited.
Supernats, one of the biggest events on any rev-head’s calendar is back for its 23rd year, an event for motor fans of all shapes and sizes to show off their gear in a safe and family friendly environment.
Held at the Sydney Motorsport Park the outdoor event showcases a number of motorsports events for everyday drivers to enter, such as drag racing, a burnout competition, and a massive Show N Shine.
Starting from Oran Park in 1994 -1997 to Eastern Creek Raceway 1999-2003, the venue has grown over time along with the crowd.
The event had to eventually be moved to Sydney Dragway in 2004 after crowd sizes ballooned to 23,000.
Owner and manager Ahmet Sehirligil (The Mad Turk) has been with the event from its inception and is one of these many horsepower enthusiasts looking forward to the day.
“This year we have been going for 23 years and have grown the number of trucks joining in.
“It started off more for a motor enthusiasts who liked street machines, hot rods, choppers and Harleys.
“In 2014 we thought, why don’t we have trucks as well?” he said.
“There is plenty of prize money for those who have registered to show off their skill on the day,” he said.
“Watching the trucks race down the track really gets the crowd going, we already have 30 entered and expect more to come closer to the day,” he said.
“It really is a day focused on entertainment, and showcasing your skills,” he said.
“We can’t wait to see a crowd there.”
This year’s Burnout Competitors will be battling out for the big cash award of $10,000 for first place.
