Jamie Smith

Big Rigs - - TRUCKIN’ IN TASSIE WITH JON WALLIS -

PASSING through Kempton recently we stopped over at Mood Food, the excellent 24 hour truck stop, for a great coffee and fresh donuts.

Happily we caught up with Jamie Smith from Midway Point when he rolled in for a refreshment break, driving an eye catching Bass Strait Removals 320 Hp 2002 Renault/Mack “Premium” long bodied rigid pan.

He was on his way up to catch the TT Line Ferry then off to Adelaide then Canberra, Sydney and return.

Jamie tells us he has been working for them since they started out as a new company in December last year, and that he is really happy with the outfit, the crew and the job.

“I had done removals for about six years previous, but had a spell doing other things, in fact I owned the bakery at Nubeena when the job came up and it seemed too good an opportunity to miss,” Jamie said.

“A great job, literally being paid to travel, and something I enjoy doing!”

Well he doesn’t appear to get a lot of time home at Midway Point in between mainland trips, but tells us he totally enjoys spending any time he gets off with his family.
