Barry Jones

“I HAVE been with this crowd for 10 years now in September and I reckon it’s still one great job!” Barry Jones explained.

“You are spoiled for variety, always somewhere different with interesting customers all over the state, out on farms, building sites, city residences, it keeps me involved and also gives me a great feeling of job satisfaction.”

We met Barry, from Launceston, when we caught up for a cuppa and refreshment break at the Caltex at Epping Forest.

He was driving his familiar “Tankworld” 2015 Hino 112 Euro 5, and towing a tandem trailer, and he was on his return leg to Launceston after drops around the Hobart area.

“I began driving trucks for Comalco,” he added.

“But this is such a good job, especially in good weather, all out in the open air, and the Hino is ideal and a pleasure to drive.”

In his free time, Barry spends time with the family and generally getting a rest.
