Saviour of the summer months
Icepack heats up by keeping you cool
THE temperature hasn’t slowed down Brisbane manufacturer Haultech after a whirlwind 18 months for Icepack.
“A lot has happened in the past couple of years, with both a new workshop and a new product to keep us busy,” Icepack founder and director Charles Inder said.
The firm has settled into its new premises, in the heart of Brisbane’s transport hub at Wacol, with transformation of the Quindus St property now complete.
This also included the launch of the Icepack Showroom.
The perfect space to showcase Haultech’s range of powerful cooling capacity APU sleeper cab air-conditioners.
The display includes the entire Icepack range featuring the popular ES, along with some examples of fitment options in the flesh and also via a digital display.
From the showroom windows, the in-house machining centre and the install workshop can be viewed in full operation, so you can see the team in action.
Just next door to the showroom a drivers’ lounge is also in place – air-conditioned of course – plus a TV, recliners and block-out curtains for those in need of a nap while their Icepack is installed or serviced.
Another major milestone for the Brisbane business included the launch of the ES model.
A innovation which was only made possible with the contributions of those who work in the transport industry.
“The launch was a proud moment for us all,” Mr Inder said.
“Our team, together with a few of our closest customers were involved in the design and ongoing refinement process.
“Ultimately the final Icepack ES model was developed with a significantly lower engine load, higher maximum ambient temperature limit, and more.
“We are very fortunate to have some great mates in the industry, and were able to have a large number of test units out in service with a couple of Queensland’s largest fleets.
“The test ES units were operating in a wide variety of transport sectors in diverse environments.
“The feedback and input we received from these operators is truly invaluable, and we thank them very much.
“You know who you are,” he added.
Since the official launch in October 2016 – there are now more than 600 ES units in service.
Mr Inder says ownerdrivers and fleet operators are reporting back a significant saving in operational costs.
“The ES has been a game changer,” he said.
During the last 20 years, the Icepack team has operated in Brisbane, working to build a solid reputation as market leaders in the heavy transport industry.
