New IVECO Daily for Mother’s Day
MOTHER’S Day gifts don’t get much better than a new IVECO Daily van, and for charity St Kilda Mums, the arrival of a new nine-cubicmetre Daily 35S was the perfect present for hundreds of mums who will benefit from faster and more efficient deliveries of much-needed goods.
Based in St Kilda but servicing all areas of Melbourne and regional Victoria, St Kilda Mums recycle nursery equipment such as cots, prams and car seats as well as clothes, linen and other baby essentials.
The quality donated goods are cleaned and supplied to families in need, as identified by maternal health nurses and local social service agencies.
Previously, St Kilda Mums relied on the generosity of couriers to deliver and pick up goods free or at a discounted rate, but this removed some control from the charity, said its CEO Jessica MacPherson.
“There were situations where we were delivering goods for premature babies in maternity hospitals and there was the smell of cigarettes on the equipment because the courier had smoked in the vehicle – the whole order had to be returned and rewashed.
“The Daily will allow us to use our own drivers, so the whole delivery process can be better managed. We’re absolutely thrilled to have it.”
The van was funded by joint efforts between Gandel Philanthropy, IVECO Dealership Adtrans and IVECO Australia.
IVECO Australia marketing manager Darren Swenson said IVECO was pleased to support St Kilda Mums.
NEW VAN: The Daily is as easy as driving a car, according to St Kilda Mums CEO Jessica MacPherson.
