Alastair Robertson

Big Rigs - - TASSIE TRUCKIN’ -

IT WAS great to catch up with Alastair Robertson from West Hobart the other day when we found him unloading in Glenorchy.

He was driving an eye-catching SRT Logistics 2017 P360 Scania rigid fridge pan at the time, and was spending the day doing local deliveries in the Hobart Metropolitan area.

“It’s a great job so far,” he told us, “great outfit to work for and heaps of variety, and I do drops down the east coast as well and around the south as far as Huonville and Franklin with all the great scenery!”

“I’ve been here for three months having just moved down from Brisbane, I guess you could call me a Climate Refugee and I’m just enjoying the weather and looking forward to the winter!

“I am really loving the mountains and the National Parks, the bush, the lakes and rivers, the wildlife, the whole lot.

“Loving the Scania too, great rig for the job!

“I’ve been on the road now for two-and-a-half years and as a job it is all I had hoped for, it satisfies so many aspects I enjoy.

“I’d have to say SRT appear to be a very professional well run outfit so I guess it’s all good and I’m happy all round!”

Time off, he told us all involved the outdoors, from Mountain Bike riding to bush

walking, but mostly seeing all that Tasmania has to offer.
