“WELL I reckon I am happy enough”, John Chatwin from Burnie told us the other day.

“After 20 months here I can honestly say they are a great outfit to work for, and they are keeping us flat out, which is great for this time of the year!”

He had rolled into the Caltex at Epping Forest and was driving a Svelto Logistics FE 320 Volvo rigid plus a trailer and was on his return home after taking a load of Poly Pipe coils from Wynyard to a fish farm at Port Huon.

He expected to do the same again on the following Monday.

He told us: “Prior to this job I was out logging in the forests, but after 20 months here now, I am really enjoying running up and down the Highway, and especially in beautiful weather like this.

“No, I haven’t any regrets and I’d have to say it’s the best move I ever made, this job takes me all over the state and there is just so much beauty out there that you see so well from a trucks cabin!”

Asked about time off he added: “Well I am a sports trainer with the Burnie Dockers Football Club, and we haven’t lost a game so far this year, and when I’m not out there I like to catch up with some rest, and spend as much time as possible with the family.”
