Green light for NT truck stop

BP AUS­TRALIA has won the right to build and op­er­ate a new truck stop within the $25 mil­lion Truck Cen­tral precinct in the North­ern Ter­ri­tory. The new BP Truck Stop will of­fer ac­cess for mul­ti­ple ve­hi­cles, from small ve­hi­cles to large triple road trains, high-flow diesel pumps, meals, a truck driv­ers’ lounge and shower fa­cil­i­ties. Truck Cen­tral is the first stage of the 70-hectare in­dus­trial precinct at the cross­roads of the re­gion’s ma­jor heavy ve­hi­cle trans­port routes be­ing Tiger Bren­nan Dr, Ber­rimah Rd and Wishart Rd. The truck stop will com­ple­ment the 3.2ha Road Train Assem­bly Area and Heavy Ve­hi­cle In­spec­tion Fa­cil­ity that are be­ing jointly funded by the Aus­tralian Gov­ern­ment, North­ern Ter­ri­tory Gov­ern­ment and the LDC.
