“IT’S a great truck, only 30,000km on the clock and running like clockwork!”
Adam Daniels from Hobart told us that the other day when he dropped into Mood Food for a cuppa and a refreshment break.
He was driving a TasTrans almost new 2018 K-200 with a 580 ES up front, and towing a B-double with two boxes bound for Toll Shipping at Burnie, and then return.
“I’ve been driving for TasTrans for six years now, and I would like to say they are a truly top outfit and really more like a family to work for,” he said.
“I recently put in three years with them running Melbourne to Sydney with seafood, interesting and quite a different world there. I’d have to say I am more than happy being back home in Tasmania where it is comparatively nice and quiet, laid back some would say!”
He added he has been on the road for eight years all up, and he still loves the job and finds it interesting and satisfying, and he has no regrets at taking it up as a career. As for time off? “I enjoy camping and being out on the water in my Shark Cat. And bike riding, in fact I have just come back from doing a charity ride to Mathinna.”
