New ideas and real skills

TMC is back, but this time it’s different. The ATA is delivering a refreshed program with an increased focus on technology and the key issues of safety, productivity, environment, costs and careers.

TMC is the trucking industry’s premier gathering of professionals, maintenance technicians, apprentices, fleet managers, technical fleet professionals and cannot be missed. Our industry is changing fast.

The businesses that will lead the way and flourish into the future will be the ones who embrace new ideas and develop and maintain the real skills the industry will always need in technology solutions, best practice business providers and teamwork.

The exciting TMC program includes a range of job-specific sessions and interactive workshops delivered by industry experts.

Delegates will get the facts on the new braking requirements, dive deep into maintenance risk management and compliance, find out how chain of responsibility is working in the real world, learn how to talk about mental health, and get hands-on in the workshop.

The three live workshop zones will take delegates through Cummins engine diagnostics, Corghi tyre maintenance technology and techniques, and an ACE dyno display and suspension demo.

The ATA is proud to welcome Australia’s very own Top Gun Matt Hall to the list of high-profile speakers.

The Red Bull Air Racer and former RAAF fighter combat instructor will discuss teamwork, success and how to get the most out of your workshop crew, while sharing his tales from a lifetime in aviation, including going into combat, evading missiles over Iraq, the Red Bull Air Race and countless near-death experiences.

Adding to the excitement of Matt’s presentation is the Meet the Inspectors session – an iconic part of every TMC.

Hosted by the chair of the ATA’s Industry Technical Council, Kel Baxter, our panel of senior inspectors will share their priorities and what they are seeing on the road.

The session is a once-ayear opportunity for delegates to provide feedback to transport inspectors from across Australia.

The opportunities at TMC for apprentices and professionals alike to further their careers by gaining knowledge, developing new skills and building their networks are endless.

Whether you’re coding an app, running a workshop or finalising your apprenticeship, TMC 2018 has sessions that will benefit your business and your own career.

TMC is also a time to celebrate industry excellence.

Each year, the ATA honours an individual’s technical and maintenance excellence in the workshop with the Craig Roseneder Award.

This prestigious award is a long-standing tradition of TMC and celebrates the professionalism of the men and women in the trucking industry’s workshops.

The winner will be announced at the Castrol Vecton Awards Dinner, and receive an all expenses paid trip to the Atlanta, Georgia, USA, to attend the US Technology and Maintenance Council’s 2019 Annual Meeting and Transportation Technology Exhibition.

The winner of the Castrol Vecton Industry Achievement Award will also be announced at the dinner.

TMC is a must-attend event for technology and maintenance professionals in the trucking industry.

The comprehensive program and exclusive networking opportunities are vital to developing your career and business.

You cannot afford to miss TMC 2018, and the ATA looks forward to welcoming you.
