ARMY driver Pte Daniel Andrews is Brisbane-based and has been busy transporting heavy equipment between there and a high range training area near Townsville.
The 28-year-old Daniel drives an old International S-Line and was having a rest in the parking area of the BP Cluden Roadhouse when Big Rigs saw him on September 15.
He was sitting on a fold-up seat in the shade between two trucks.
“I am taking an AS-4 ambulance vehicle back to Brisbane and it had been at high range,” he said.
Pte Andrews has been in the Armed Forces for nine years and reckons many parts of the Bruce Highway need work. “Especially the section north of Rockhampton,” he said. The quietly spoken Pte Andrews said the International was a good reliable truck.
“It did get a bit hot coming up the range today but is a good,” he said.
Pte Andrews is a member of 7th Combat Service Support Battalion and loves army life.
