8 TOP TRUCKIN’ THINGS TO DO
WE ARE well and truly rockin’ on towards the end of 2018. But there are still loads of truckin’ events being held all around our great country.
Here’s just a few of them. We’re sure there are others out there we don’t know about or sadly didn’t have the space this time around to mention them.
Regardless, they are all great truckin’ events so check them out and if you can get along and support our great industry and the various worthy causes it, in turn, supports you.
October 6: Matty Hillcoat’s Truckies’ Day Out
WHERE: Gympie Showgrounds, Queensland.
A HUGE fun day out is planned with a truck and ute show, entertainment for the kids, full food and drink catering, pig racing, tractor pull, chainsaw racing and live music. It’s all aimed at raising funds to help stamp out SIDS.

October 20 and 21: Urana Vintage Rally
WHERE: Victoria Park, Urana, southern NSW.
IT IS hosted by the Urana Vintage Machinery Club Inc and is a big weekend for vintage machinery and tractor enthusiasts.

October 28: Newcastle Hunter Transport Awareness Day
WHERE: Maitland Showground, in Maitland, NSW.
IN ITS 24th year, the event is at a larger venue so the organisers can accommodate nationally recognised entertainment and performers, plenty of activities for the kids, lots of food and refreshment options, market and trade stalls and, hopefully, more trucks than ever.

November 3: Brisbane Convoy for Kids
WHERE: From Forest Lake in Brisbane’s southwest to the Redcliffe Showgrounds on the Redcliffe Peninsula.
THERE is a whole day of family fun and entertainment planned to raise funds for a very worthy cause.

November 3: Riverina Truck Show and Kids Convoy
WHERE: Wagga Wagga’s Civic Theatre Precinct and Playhouse carpark.

November 3 and 4: Historic Truck and Tractor Show 2018
WHERE: Gatton Showgrounds, Southeast Queensland.
HOSTED by the Historic Commercial Vehicle Association of Queensland, the two-day event will feature vintage and classic trucks, show trucks, buses, tractors, stationary engines, trade stands, grand parades and great catering.

November 10: Mullumbimby Truck Show
WHERE: Mullumbimby Showgrounds, Northern NSW.
HELD in conjunction with the annual Mullumbimby Agricultural Show, the truck show day starts with a truck parade through the town from 11am and travels to the showgrounds to become a part of a typical country show day, with loads of entertainment and lots of things to see and do.

November 24 and 25: Maffra Truck Show
WHERE: Maffra Recreation Reserve.
IT’S open from 10am on both days and will feature heritage and working trucks, steam and stationary engines and loads more.
