Models with Dan Murphy

Bling'd Up Trucks - - News - Scale Trucking with Daniel Murphy

R yan Waldram has been building models since he was 10 years old but didn’t build his first truck until he was 15. Now he is in his mid-thirties and has around 100 built models with half of his stash still to be built.

Ryan sent in pictures with a small story of his 1/25th scaled International Lonestar Rotator Wrecker to Bling’d Up Trucks.

Ryan started with the Moebius International Lonestar kit but he wasn’t a big fan of the base form it came in, so he did some research and found the Limited Edition Harley Davidson version.

This version came with a custom paint job, bumper, grille and bullet styled headlights just to name a few of its unique features.

Ryan had a wrecker body in his parts box from the model kit Can-Do. After finding a resin day cab on eBay he started the build.

After coming up with a plan of attack he decided he didn’t want the lift axle so custom made a third drive axle along with shortening the chassis to reduce the gap between the cab and wrecker body.

When it came time to paint he used a gold colour to paint the chassis, axles and most of the suspension before doing the body in a pearl black.

After this was done he added the details from the engine to the hand rails.

Great ingenuity was used in this custom build, resulting in a true masterpiece. Nice work Ryan!
