The MighTy Fine

Blunt - - Up Front -

Where are you from?

San Luis Obispo, California.

Who is in your band?

Brook Thompson (vocals, guitar); Casey Wieber (guitar, vocals); Mikey Castillo

(bass, vocals); Chris Scott (drums).

Who are some of your influences?

Against Me!, The Bronx, Millencolin, Foo Fighters, and The Lawrence Arms.

Where can we normally find

you playing?

The West Coast of the USA, but I think it’s time to make it out to Australia. I studied abroad in Brisbane about seven years ago and loved it. You guys know

how to drink.

Tell us about your best show.

We played with Against Me! a few years back in our hometown and it was just wild. We also got to play LA’s The Roxy for the first time last year with A Wilhelm Scream and The Flatliners. It

was a pretty surreal experience.

Tell us about your worst show.

Most of our early shows were pretty rough. There was one show in particular where I couldn’t stop breaking strings. I had chugged about a bottle of wine right

before the set to settle my nerves and instead, I played loud and noisy and out

of tune. Wine was a bad choice.

Tell us your three favourite bands.

Descendents, Thrice, and Millencolin.

Tell us about your latest release.

We released Brothers And Smugglers on March 4 via Creator-Destructor Records and we recorded it in Los Angeles with our good friend Kyle Black (Comeback Kid, Strung Out, New Found Glory). This is easily my most favourite release that I’ve been a part of. I think fans of So-Cal punk rock with gritty vocals and big hooks

will enjoy the album.

Slayer or Metallica?

Metallica (sans St. Anger).
