ALARM BELLS

Part Two Battle Worldwide

Blunt - - In Review -

And so the peculiar story of Alarm Bells continues – with every Part One, there naturally comes a Part Two. The energy and unpredictability of its predecessor is continued here, although the overall demeanour is somewhat lighter and more sprightly in nature. Hell, “Must Be Something I Took” could have been a long-lost Dananananaykroyd single – and that is in no way an insult. Although each of the four tracks on offer here are fantastic, it’s in the closer “Come” where business really begins to pick up. The spiky guitar picks up on some of the band’s mathier influences, while a mid-song detour into reverbladen synthesiser country tips it over the line to beat Part One’s “Whitemare” as their best track to date. Parts three through infinity cannot come quickly enough. Sound the alarm.
