FOZZY

Do You Wanna Start A War Century Media/ Universal

Blunt - - In Review - PETER ZALUZNY

Undeniably catchy but incredibly cliché, Fozzy’s classic metal repertoire has always managed to scratch the itch of metalheads and mainstream rock worshippers. So why, Mr. Jericho, did you decide to water down your sixth full- length, Do You Wanna Start A War? Sorry fans, but Fozzy have followed the dreaded “play it safe” route. Roaring riffs, stunning solos and Jericho’s powerful vocals still shine, but before long they become buried under basic, repetitive “one size fits all” hard rock. Top it off with some of their cheesiest lyrics to date and you’re stuck with a band wrestling their desire to push their sound into more ears while staying true to their roots. Fozzy’s latest packs a lot of style, but barely enough substance to keep you interested for more than 20 minutes.
