I Am Giant

Blunt - - Up Front -

Where are you from? We’re London based although the two founding members are Kiwis. Who is in your band? Ed Martin ( vocals); Shelton Woolright ( drums); Paul Matthews ( bass, guitar). Who are some of your influences? Tom Petty, Pink Floyd, Soundgarden, Faith No More, Deftones, Rage Against Machine, Helmet, ISIS, Quicksand and Nirvana. Where can we normally find you playing? We travel a lot so take your pick. The UK, New Zealand, Germany, Poland and Australia are regular touring destinations for us. As we’re based in London you can normally catch us there a few times a year. tell us about your best show. Probably supporting Slash in Brisbane in 2012. It was the first show of the tour and playing with someone as iconic as Slash and hearing him play all of those GN’R classics live was just awesome. tell us about your worst show. We’ve blocked it out in a fireball of positive energy. tell us your three favourite bands. Pink Floyd, Soundgarden and Deftones. tell us about your latest release. It’s called Science & Survival. It’s our second album and it took us about nine months or so to record, which is twice as much time as it took us to record our first album. We recorded it with Forrester Savell and he mixed it as well. He’s an amazing engineer and mixer. This record has been a big step up for us in terms of songwriting and sound quality and we’re ecstatic that it’s already been getting some rave reviews from around the world and is fast being picked up by radio stations around the globe. In comparison to our first record, Science & Survival is a darker, moodier, heavier alternative rock album. We’re so pleased with how it has turned out. Slayer or metallica? Metallica all day long.
