Blunt - - Upfront -

What other names did you consider

calling yourselves? The Flaming Surfer Dudes, HateFish, 420 Super Reefer, SharkFight and The

Holy Mani-axe.

We’re from the northern suburbs of Melbourne and for us it’s probably Super Tasty Rooster. They do the best chips and gravy and you can get the phattest chicken schnitzel burger for only $7. It’s got like,

three schnitzels in it. Where are you from and what would be the most recognisable local landmark? Who is in your band, what do they play and what is their non-musical superpower? Dan McDonald (guitar, heaps good at not littering); Himi Stringer (bass, vocals, also heaps good at littering); Mike Harutyunyan (guitar, vocals, heaps good at running); Nick

Cron (plays the drums like the BFG).

Name your three biggest influences. Slayer, The Congos, and The Dan

Harris Explosion.

“Oi Nick, give us a ciggie, brother.”

Tell us about your most memorable show. We played with Sleep at The Corner Hotel, which is undoubtedly any doom dude’s

dream. It was sick. What band would you most like to share

the stage with? Lynyrd Skynyrd and Horsehunter do a Megadeth-collab cover night… ’Nuff said What is your latest release and why

should we buy it? Our LP Caged In Flesh and you should buy it

‘cos it’s heaps sick and we’re heaps poor. If you could be endorsed by one company,

who would it be?

What’s the usual first topic of conversation when you take a break

at rehearsal? Horsehunter loves Nippy’s Iced Chocolate and have always dreamed of a Nippy’s sponsorship of some kind. Ain’t nothin’ soothes like a little sippy of some Nippy’s.

Why are you going to make it to the top over all the other contenders in the

musical arena? Well, with the power of Nippy’s on our side,

anything is possible.
