A surprise picnic lunch during a weekend away set the scene for Alicia and Jamie’s engagement. Jamie waited until Alicia had indulged in some of her favourite treats before popping the question in what Alicia described as a “perfect and thoughtful” proposal.

GARDEN GLORY: The beautiful garden at Hurlstone Homestead was the styling point and hero of Alicia and Jamie’s ceremony and reception. “We kept the styling simple with pastel pinks and creams to keep with the rustic, garden feel,” Alicia said. As the sun set, guests chatted around vintage wine barrels or white tables adorned with flower arrangements in jars decorated with hessian and lace. They also played quoits in the garden while waiting for the bridal party to arrive for the reception.

SPECIAL MOMENTS “My beautiful mum walked me down the aisle. It was such a special and proud moment for us. “I will never forget the feeling when I saw Jamie’s face as I began walking down the aisle. I had such a sense of calm and happiness.” Echuca musician Tyler Hudson performed Keith Urban’s Only You Can Love Me This Way for the bride’s entrance. The couple’s first dance as husband and wife was to I Won’t Give Up by Jason Mraz.

COCKTAIL RECEPTION: There were no formal seating arrangements which allowed the newlyweds to spend more time with their guests. “It created a fun and relaxed atmosphere which we loved,” Alicia said.
