Olivia Halsall's High Tea

THE SPECIAL LINK BETWEEN FEMALE GENERATIONS WAS HONOURED IN THE VINTAGE-THEMING OF OLIVIA HALSALL’S BRIDAL SHOWER.

Bride and Groom - - HIGH-TEA DELIGHT -

My parents’ home is my favourite place in the world; it’s always somewhere I imagined having my bridal shower. I didn’t want any gifts so instead I asked guests to bring a plate of sweet or savoury food to share; it was a great way to involve everyone. My great grandmother’s lace tablecloth was used and many of the cups and saucers belong to my grandmother. My mum hung the bridal horseshoes she was given on her wedding day around as decorations. Making wedding dresses out of toilet paper, and funny questionnaires were some of the games organised by my bridesmaids. It was a beautiful, relaxed day for my family and friends of all ages and I was given some wonderful advice from the married ladies. See Olivia’s wedding on page 61.
