Broome Advertiser - - Sport - Robert Dougherty

The cricket season has officially hit full swing as teams hit the ovals for their first weekend of matches.

There is nothing like a double header of Twenty20 games to get the ball rolling on the 2017 Agrade cricket season and Mangrove Cricket Club have begun perfectly with a win against the Dirty Dozen.

Mangrove batted first, with former WA country cricketer Brian Hall thumping an unbeaten 94 with the bat to lift them to 5-141 after their 20 overs.

The Dozen were in trouble early as they lost 2-11 in reply. Brett Morley mustered 52 runs with the bat to keep them competitive but they eventually fell short at 7-127.

The Wanderers Cricket Club were missing players as they stepped on to the ground against Roebuck Bay Cricket Club and were found wanting as they were bowled out for 87.

Roebuck Bay chased with ease as they cruised to 3-172.
