Call to join Ca­ble Beach com­pe­ti­tion

Tena­cious triath­letes are be­ing en­cour­aged to take on the task of this year’s Ca­ble Beach Triathlon in a team.

This year’s Lead­ing Edge Com­put­ers Ca­ble Beach Triathlon is right around the cor­ner, start­ing on Sun­day, September 17 at the Broome Surf Life­sav­ing Club.

Broome Tri Club’s Katie Cartwright said com­peti­tors have the op­tion of kids, en­ticer, sprint and Olympic dis­tances with team cat­e­gories avail­able in each.

“Com­peti­tors of all fit­ness lev­els and abil­i­ties are en­cour­aged to en­ter,” she said.

The triathlon en­ticer dis­tance is a 375m swim, 10km ride and 3km run. The sprint dis­tance is a 750m swim, 20km ride, 5km run and the Olympic chal­lenge is 1500m swim, 40km ride and 10km run.

On­line reg­is­tra­tions will close on Fri­day, September 15, how­ever, reg­is­tra­tions can still be made in per­son at Lead­ing Edge Com­put­ers in Broome un­til 1pm on the Satur­day.

All reg­is­tered triath­letes are re­quired to pick up their race pack from Lead­ing Edge Com­put­ers on Satur­day, September 16 be­tween 9am and 1pm.
