Art pieces displayed
The region’s best art was on display in an exhibition in Broome last week as part of Shinju Matsuri celebrations.
The Broome Civic Centre showcased eight winning pieces from last Monday’s annual art awards, as well as all entries, which made for an impressive line-up of visual masterpieces.
Shinju Matsuri president Chris Maher said the standard of entries was very high.
“The art display at the civic centre has been wonderful,” he said.
Joshua Cocking was the winner of the Shire of Broome acquisitive art prize with his piece Better Pastures. The teen art award was won by Shala Arnott for her entry Under.
