Sport to start competition

Broome Advertiser - - Sport - Robert Dougherty

Broome athletes have been given the opportunity to test their sprinting, teamwork and hand-eye co-ordination with a social floorball competition.

The fast-paced indoor sport — something akin to non-contact ice hockey using a plastic ball, plastic sticks with box goals — was trialled this month in a series of free Monday night games.

The sport has since made the dash to a round-robin competition on Tuesdays at Broome Recreation and Aquatic Centre’s indoor courts, starting this week.

BRAC staff are expected to allocated teams from participants who arrive at the courts from 6pm, with three games played per night, each match played with two, 10-minute halves.
